Its work was unprecedented. Franz Bucher, who led the team, was subsequently inundated with requests from both Switzerland and abroad. Some sought advice and training, while others needed concrete assistance. This interest led to the idea of establishing Carelink, an independent support organization, on behalf of Swissair.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-mou5jk4z-dfb00d97a82e6120e6bf19f614e2bb18\">\n#top .hr.hr-invisible.av-mou5jk4z-dfb00d97a82e6120e6bf19f614e2bb18{\nheight:80px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='hr av-mou5jk4z-dfb00d97a82e6120e6bf19f614e2bb18 hr-invisible  avia-builder-el-7  el_after_av_textblock  el_before_av_textblock '><span class='hr-inner '><span class=\"hr-inner-style\"><\/span><\/span><\/div><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-mou5e5wl-ad98251cba7a0cc9f9650d02308b36b9 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h2>Official launch in 2001<\/h2>\n<p>On August 28, 2001, Carelink was officially launched on the Gurten near Bern\u2014not as a foundation, but as an association. About a month later, on October 2, 2001, Swissair became insolvent. Following its grounding, the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) showed even greater interest: Franz Bucher and his colleague Richard Frei built the organization on their behalf.<\/p>\n<p>As early as November 24, 2001, the experience and network of these two pioneers were urgently needed: a Crossair plane had crashed near Bassersdorf.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2003, the association became a foundation. By then, Carelink had become independent of SBB. In 2016, Franz Bucher stepped down as managing director. Today, the volunteer team numbers about 350 people across Switzerland. About 100 of them are certified emergency psychologists.  <\/p>\n<p>Since its founding, Carelink has completed countless assignments. Its customer base now includes around 190 companies and organizations.
